About

Erik P. Carter

Erik P. Carter currently works in the field of vaccine research and development in the Boston area. His professional training is largely in virology but, in his spare time, he pursues his passion for figurative oil painting.

Carter finds considerable inspiration in the great Baroque Italian master Caravaggio and the 20th Century painter Francis Bacon, as well as modern painters like Roberto Ferri, Jenny Saville, and Nicola Samori. His depictions of the homoerotic nude human form very often reflect a state of quiet, vulnerable isolation, occasionally drawing on themes from religious history.

He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
